Romario Spence has been named Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 6-12. The senior from Luton, England averaged 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.00 blocks per game in two contests played.

In Wednesday's 60-57 conference win over John Brown (Ark.), Spence contributed 19 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. In Saturday's 78-71 non-conference loss to Paul Quinn (Texas), he finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks.

In the two games combined, Spence made 12 of 20 field goal attempts (60%) and 13 of 17 free throw attempts (76.4%). He also totaled three assists and two steals.

Spence ranks fourth in the Sooner Athletic Conference in rebounding (8.4 rpg), sixth in blocks (1.3 bpg) 16th in free throw percentage (68.8%) and 19th in scoring (12.2 ppg).

Mark Berokoff says that Spence is a hard worker who has set a great example for his teammates this season.

"I have been very impressed with Romario's work ethic this season," Berokoff said. "He has really bought into what we are doing and it is starting to pay dividends on both ends of the court."
