OKLAHOMA CITY – Second-ranked Oklahoma City improved to 20-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference and 31-3 overall with a pair of run-rule wins over Central Christian on Thursday 13-3 and 9-1.

The teams will meet for the series finale at 11 a.m. on Friday. The games were moved up an hour to avoid projected afternoon storms.

Jessica Phares had four hits, including two home runs, in the doubleheader.

The Stars scored five runs in the first inning with the help of three errors.
Hadley Gibson stole second and scored when the throw to second glanced off her leg and into left field. Two more runs scored on two errors on one play.
Kaiden Spidell added an RBI double and Phares had a solo home run.

After giving up three runs in the second, OCU got two back in the home half on and error and a sacrifice fly by
Analise Rayburn.

Phares singled in a run in the third for an 8-3 lead.

The Stars scored four times in the fourth on a two-run home run by Hoehner, a run-scoring single by
Gabby Moreno and an RBI single by
Peyton Barrow.

OCU had a dozen hits, led by
Iliana Ashford, Hoehner, Moreno and Phares with two each.

Brynlee Alsip went the distance, allowing two earned runs while striking out three for her 19
th win of the season.

The Stars took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI double by Hoehner and an RBI ground out by Rayburn.

After a run scored on an error in the second, Rayburn added a two-run home run in the third for a 5-0 lead.

The Tigers scored their run in the top of the fifth, but OCU got the game-ending runs in the fifth on a three-run home run by Phares and an RBI triple by
Carlee Mollet.

The Stars had nine hits, led by Hoehner, Phares and Mollet with two apiece.

Morgandee Sawatzky got the pitching win to improve to 6-0.
McKenna Snyder pitched a perfect two-thirds of an inning.
