SPRINGFIELD. Mo. - The Oklahoma City women's golf team opened its 2024 fall season in the Payne Stewart Memorial hosted by Missouri State University at Twins Oaks Country Club.
Paige Wood and
Beth Norton claimed top 20 finishes both typing 18th place. Wood had her best round trough the first 18 holes on Monday posting a 73 before going 79 and 76 in the following two rounds to finish 15 over par.
For Norton, she posted her best score of a 73 in round two while finishing 15 over.Â
Jamie Welsh fell one stroke behind Wood and Norton with a total score of 229 at 16 over par. Welsh put together her top round of the tournament in round one with a 75.
Aubrey House tied for 32nd overall and playing as an individual House tied for the second best score among the group. After an 81 in round one, House had the third best 18 hole score for OCU with a 75 in round two finishing at 19 over.
Freshman
Klaudie Karnikova saw her best 18 holes in round three with her first round in the 70s posting a 79. Karnikova totaled a 239 for the tournament finishing 26 over par.
Meghan Charles rounded out the Stars group at +38 after shooting an 80 in each of the first two rounds before seeing a 91 in round three.Â
