OKLAHOMA CITY – No. 1-ranked Oklahoma City University is in fourth place after 18 holes of play at the Southern Nazarene Invitational on Monday. The 15-team tournament is being held at the par-71, 5,912 yard Lincoln Park Golf Course.
 
OCU carded a 302 opening round, 13 strokes behind frontrunner Oklahoma Christian (289).
 
OCU is the only team not in the NCAA Division II ranks in the top-five of the team standings. Following Oklahoma Christian, Northeastern State and Central Oklahoma are tied for second place (297) and Southwestern Oklahoma State is in fifth place (314).
 
OCU has three golfers in the top-20 with freshman Maddi Kamas in a tie for second (71), freshman Reagan Chaney alone in 12th place (74) and senior Natalie Gough in a tie for 17th place (77).
 
Freshman Paige Wood is tied for 32nd place (80) and freshman Jamie Welsh is tied for 42nd place (82).
 
OCU's Blue team is ahead of four NCAA Division II schools in ninth place with a 321 card. Finishing for the Blue team were senior Lauren Behnken in a tie for 21st place (78), freshman Morgan Palermo in a tie for 25th place (79), senior Rachel Eckert in a tie for 32nd place (80) and freshman Meghan Charles in a tie for 54th place (84).

The conditions included temperatures in the mid to upper 30s with a high temperature of 40 degrees. The wind blew around 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
 
The tournament will conclude with 18 holes played at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
