KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oklahoma City University's Oaklin Davis and Michal Roguski garnered 2018 NAIA scholar-athlete men's track & field honors.
In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
Davis, a senior from Aledo, Texas, posted a 4.0 cumulative grade-point average while pursuing a business administration degree. The award marks Davis' first NAIA track & field scholar-athlete award, however he has collected NAIA cross country scholar-athlete accolades each of the past two seasons. Davis turned in a fourth place finish in the 1,500 meter race at the OBU Invite with a time of four minutes 15.98 seconds, while also taking fourth in the 5,000-meters at the OCU Last Chance Meet with a time of 16:11.67.
Roguski, a junior from Siedlce, Poland, sports a 3.997 GPA studying mass communications. He grabs his first NAIA track & field scholar-athlete honor. Roquski notched NAIA cross country scholar-athlete award in the fall and made academic cross country all-conference last year.
The 2019 NAIA men's track and field scholar-athletes totaled 341 men's track & field student-athletes. Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) led all institutions with 16 selections.
