Davis, McNeill and Shaw make finals at NAIA Indoor Championships

OCU's distance medley relay qualified for finals

BILLINGS, S.D. – Oklahoma City University's Oaklin Davis won his heat and earned a spot in the men's 5,000 meter final at the 2019 NAIA Indoor Championships on Thursday afternoon at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
Davis, a senior from Aledo, Texas, finished the 5,000 meter race in 15 minutes and 0.18 seconds, just 1.16 seconds behind Braden Curnow of Dakota State (S.D) who posted the fastest time of the day with a 14:59.02.
OCU's Max McNeill and Mark Shaw finished third and fourth in their heat to make the final in the men's 5,000-meter run. McNeill, a junior from Uphall Station, Scotland, finished with a time of 15:03.10, while Shaw, a junior from Ormesby, Middlesbrough, England, crossed the finish at 15:03.38. The Stars' distance medley relay team made up of Ilijah Coleman, Moses Dirane, Oscar Kipkoros and Bryce McConnell, qualified for the finals with a third place finish in their heat with a time of 10:14.38.
Dirane will compete in the one-mile and the 1,000 meter race, while Kipkoros and McNeill will run in the 3,000-meter run on Friday.
