TULSA – Oklahoma City opened the cross country season with a fourth-place women's finish and a 10^th-place finish for the men's team at Rogers State's Distance After Dark Thursday night.
 
In the women's race, the Stars placed fourth among 17 teams in the five-kilometer race with 121 points. Kenzi Readnour and Keira Readnour placed third and fourth, respectively, in 17:50.7 and 17:56.3. Isabella Gutierrez was 15^th at 18:34. Isabelle Spiller placed 53^rd at 19:46.7 and Ella Morrison rounded out the OCU scoring in 56^th at 19:54.8.
 
Also for the Stars, Kamryn Boller was 79^th at 20:24.4 and Toni Ibarra was 105^th at 21:0.7.6.
 
OCU also was fourth in this event last season.
 
The men's team was 10^th with 246 points in the 14-team field.
 
Marius Delchard covered the four-mile course in 20:59.9 for 20^th place to pace the Stars, followed by Noah Thayer in 37^th at 21:35.1; Jackson Fowler in 57^th at 21:53.3; Carlton Waiguru in 90^th at 22:37.1; and Jorge Quinonez in 139^th at 23:51.2
 
The Stars are back in action Sept. 25 in the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Missouri,
