Stars Open with 1-0 Victory

OKLAHOMA CITY – Louyse Souza scored from 40 yards out on a free kick for the lone goal in Oklahoma City's 1-0 win over Our Lady of the Lake in both teams' season opener on Thursday.
 
Souza scored the game-winner in the 60th minute.
 
The Stars had 12 shots for the night, including three by Karima Marhabi. OCU had four shots on goal with two from Amelia Horsford and one each by Souza and Kyrie Soto.
 
Candela Blanco got the clean sheet with two saves in goal for the Stars.
 
OCU returns to the pitch on Sunday for a 10 a.m. home contest against Baker.
