DUNCAN – Second-ranked Oklahoma City captured the Sooner Athletic Conference championship on Tuesday, blazing a 13-under par third round to win the men's golf title by 21 strokes.

Carter Ray won the men's title at 11 under par, leading four Stars who had sub-70 rounds on Tuesday. Ray shot six-under for 66 on Tuesday while individual entrant
Lorenzo Santinelli finished sixth after his round of 67.
Christian Yanovitch shot 68 and
Jack Newton had a 69.

Ray finished the tournament with rounds of 66, 73 and 66 with 18 birdies. In the final round, he had birdies on holes one, seven, 11, 13, 15 16 and 18.

Newton went 68-74-69 with birdies Tuesday on two, three, five, 11 and 18. He had 15 birdies for the tournament.

Yanovitch placed seventh with rounds of 73, 72 and 68. He birdied six, seven, nine, 11 and 15 in the final round to bring his total to nine.

Simon Jansson was 15
th, going 72-78-72 for six over par. His birdies on seven, eight and 18 on Tuesday brought his total to 10, to go along with an eagle in the first round.

Rounding out the team was
Cameron Bozyk in 17
th place with rounds of 77, 72 and 73. He birdied holes three, six and nine on Tuesday for a total of 10 in the tournament.

OCU individual entrants Santinelli,
Philipp Perzl and
Luke Woods placed second, 11
th and 24
th, respectively.

Santinelli had rounds of 68, 72 and 67 to finish nine under par. He had birdies in the final round on holes two, three, four, six, 12 15 and 18. Santinelli finished with 16 birdies in the tournament.

Perzl had rounds of 75, 71 and 72 for two under par with nine birdies for the tournament, including the seventh and 10
th holes on Tuesday.

Woods went 79-74-79 with six birdies. His final round saw him birdie holes seven and 10.

The Stars qualified for the NAIA Tournament next month.
