WILLOW PARK, Texas – Second-ranked Oklahoma City claimed its fifth team victory of the season, taking the Texas Wesleyan Spring Classic by two strokes as
Christian Yanovitch claimed the individual title.

The Stars got a challenge from Tyler Junior College but finished well under pressure. TJC finished two strokes back. Ninth-ranked USAO was third and No. 7 Texas Wesleyan was fifth.

Yanovitch has his second sub-70 round of the tournament on Tuesday, shooting a 66 to finish the tournament at 10 under par (65-72-66). He birdied the third, seventh, 11
th, 15
th, 16
th and 18
th holes on Tuesday to bring his total to 17 birdies in the 54-hole event. He beat runner-up Sebastian Velaszuez of TWU by three strokes.

"The guys played very solid and showed some guts coming down the stretch," said OCU Head Coach
Blake Trimble. "Proud of Christian for winning individually and proud of everyone else. Looking forward to conference in a couple weeks!"

Simon Jansson had his best round of the tournament on Tuesday, firing a 67 with six of his nine birdies for the tournament coming in the final round (holes one, four, five, nine, 10 and 11). He finished at four over par and tied with
Carter Ray for 21
st, going 72-78-67. Ray had rounds of 74, 71 and 72 with eight birdies. Ray's final round included birdies on holes one, 13 and 18.

Cameron Bozyk was 25
th at six over with Tuesday birdies on four and 12. He shot 72, 75, and 72.
Philipp Perzl placed 38
th, going 72-72-78 with six birdies.

As individual entrants,
Lorenzo Santinelli was sixth at one under par and
Jack Newton was 11
th at two over.

Santinelli had rounds of 66, 73 and 73 with 10 birdies. Newton went 74-70-71 with birdies on holes one, nine 11 and 15. He finished the tournament with an eagle and six birdies.

The Stars head to the Sooner Athletic Conference Championship on April 27-28 at The Territory Golf Club in Duncan.
