SILVIS, Ill. – Oklahoma City University finished the rain-delayed first round of the NAIA Men's Golf Championship in third place on Wednesday.

The Stars battled through tough conditions on Tuesday and finished the round on Wednesday at three under par. Wayland Baptist leads after the first round and four under par and Dalton State is second at even par.

Blake Trimble. "They battled the cold, wind, and rain and are right in the mix. We know we have work to do. But good start to nationals."

Lorenzo Santinelli led the Stars in fifth place with a three-under-par 68 with birdies on holes one, two, five, 10, 16 and 18.

Christian Yanovitch and
Michael Robson were both at 72 (one over) and tied for 28
th place. Yanovitch birdied holes one, two, eight and 11. Robson was one under par on holes two, nine and 14.

Tres Hill finished the first round at four over par. His round of 75 included birdies on the second, ninth and 14
th holes.

Carter Ray carded a five-over-par 76 for the first round and is in 88
th place.

The Stars launch Thursday's second round from the 10
th hole, staring at 1:20 p.m.

The tournament was shortened to 54 holes after the lengthy first-round rain delay. The field will be cut in half after Thursday's round.
