How it Happened
Beginning with a slower pace as the first shot came nine minutes into the contest both teams traded possession through the majority of the first half. In minute 30 Central Baptist took advantage of a loose ball just beyond the box as Billy Murray nailed the first make of the match giving the Mustangs the lead going into the half.
Oklahoma City came out more aggressive in the second half finally working its way towards a goal of their own as
Marco Alongi found the back of the net to tie things up. Not long after, Oklahoma City put themselves in front and once again it was Alongi from the Stars captain and assist leader
Thomas Brulay. After taking the lead, the Stars held the opposition to just one shot for the rest of the way giving Oklahoma City a 2-1 win.
Game Notes
- Oklahoma City held a 21-9 shot advantage only allowing one shot on-goal which is the fourth time in six games the Stars defense have done so.
- With the two goals on the night, Marco Alongi took the team-lead of seven goals leading David Imbert, Ruben Fahiya and Jovanny Nsonga who total five goals apiece on the year.
- Tuesday's match was the third time in six games Alongi has accounted for a multi-goal game .Â
- Thomas Brulay delivered an assist on each goal from the Stars being the fourth time in six games Brulay has made an assist and the third time he has had more than one bringing his season total to a team-high eight assists on the season.
