OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City standout alum Zouhair Talbi will compete the 2024 Paris Olympics this summer where he will represent his country of Morocco.
In his time at Oklahoma City, Talbi hauled in seven cross country and track & field all-American honors and seven individual national titles (including guiding OCU to the 2021 distance medley relay title).
In his career, Talbi became two-time NAIA men's cross country athlete of the year, NAIA indoor men's track & field athlete of the year, two-time NAIA South Central Region cross country athlete of the year, two-time Sooner Athletic Conference male athlete of the year, two-time individual cross country national champion and two-time SAC cross country individual champion.
He garnered acclaim for his academic achievement as a college Sports Communicators academic all-American, academic all-district and on the SAC commissioner's honor roll.
In 2023, Talbi recorded top-five finishes at both the Boston Marathon and Houston Half Marathon. In Boston, he finished one spot ahead of Olympic champion and world-record holder Eliud Kipchoge.
Most recently in January, Talbi set a course record time of 2:06:39 to win the Houston Marathon becoming the first Moroccan runner to claim first in the event.
Talbi will now have his sights set on Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics where he will compete in the Marathon which will take place Jul. 26 - Aug. 11.
