DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Oklahoma City competitive dance team earned its second straight title at NDA Nationals over the weekend in the NAIA dance team performance championship.

Oklahoma City outlasted the competition with a score of 88.62. Aquinas (Mich.) took national runner-up with a score of 84.32. 

OCU led after the preliminary round after reaching a total of 84.30 while having five other schools sitting in the 83 point range. The Stars collected their sixth NDA title after winning the 2011 large dance title, 2013 NAIA large dance championship, 2016 NDA Division III hip hop title and 2016 NAIA small dance championship, the NAIA dance championship in 2014 and last year's title in the team performance championship. 

"Every year I'm amazed at how much this team and program steps up to the challenge and pushes themselves and this year wasn't any different," said head coach Tasha Hinex. "This season we decided to add another routine that we haven't done since 2016 and they did it! We were faced with injuries, roster changes and a heavy competition season and schedule from January to April. I couldn't have asked for a better end to a challenging season. They represented the past, present and future of OCU Competitive Dance and I couldn't be prouder!"

Oklahoma City came just shy of winning its second title over the weekend after placing second in the NAIA Hip Hop event tallying a score of 85.08 falling behind the winner in Ottawa (AZ) who outlasted the Stars with a score of 85.34.
