OKLAHOMA CITY – Star-Studded Pitcher Eli Davis named to the 2023 American Baseball Coaches Association Rawlings Gold Glove Team. 

Eli Davis adds yet another piece of hardware to his trophy case after a historic senior season at OCU by being selected to the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team. The Gold Glove Award joins several different accolades Davis hauled in after a remarkable 2023 after winning the NAIA Pitcher of the Year and being named an NAIA First-Team All-American. Davis was also awarded the Sooner Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year and was a First-Team All-Conference Selection for the second consecutive year.   

Davis finished 2023 with a 12-2 record on the mound giving him the most wins in the NAIA this past season. Davis also led the country in innings pitched with 103.1 with six complete games and tossed a 1.83 ERA.   

Davis played a pivotal role in the quest for the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament title that the Stars prevailed in. Davis got the start in the opening round against Southwestern Assemblies of God and pitched six shutout innings allowing three hits, one walk, and eight strikeouts in the 13-0 win over the Lions. On two days rest Davis took the ball in the SAC Championship game against USAO and went the distance allowing six hits, two walks, three runs with two being earned and six strikeouts leading the Stars to their 14th Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Championship victory.   

Davis becomes the third Star to be awarded the ABCA Rawlings Gold Glove joining third basemen Chris Munoz who won the award in 2013 along with catcher Chad Carman who won the award in 2011 and 2012. The award is chosen by the ABCA All-American Committee and selects eight position players and one pitcher from each division of college athletics to receive the award.
