OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City University fell 7-5 to Central Christian in their final home game of the regular season at Jim Wade Stadium on Sunday. The Stars end the season 26-19, 16-8 in SAC play.
The Stars came out strong with five runs in the first and went cold the rest of the way. Two doubles, a triple, and a wild pitch brought home the five runs.
Reese Ratchford doubled home
Aiden Alexander to start the scoring.
Trent Kiraly drove home two and
Felix Chenier-Rondeau tripled home
Jesse Fonteboa. Rondeau would later score on a wild pitch.
The Central Christian Tigers were hitless and scoreless through the first three innings until they brought home a run in the fifth. Everything was smooth again up until the seventh inning as the Tigers scored four to tie the game at 5. They took the lead on an 0-2, two out count in the top of the ninth to make it 7-5.
The Stars' Kiraly went 2-for-4 on the day with an RBI and a run. Ratchford followed with a 2-for-5 showing and an RBI. Rondeau supplied the Stars with two RBIs off one hit and a run. Alexander and Fonteboa rounded out OCU's hits as they had seven.
Starting pitcher Drew Limbaugh lasted six strong innings picking up four strikeouts.
Grant Harrison picked up the loss in his outing and falls to 1-2 on the year.
OCU goes into post season play as the three seed with the loss and will host a team to be determined.
