OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University center fielder
Cross Factor has been named Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks.
Â
The senior from Yukon is one of the top hitters in NAIA baseball and has played a major role in propelling the Stars to a 17-1 start.
Â
Last week, Factor helped lead OCU to a 6-0 record by contributing a .565 batting average (13-for-23) with two doubles, six home runs, nine RBIs, 12 runs scored and a 1.435 slugging percentage. He hit what would prove to be a game-winning two-run shot in the top of the ninth inning in Tuesday's 12-11 win at Central Baptist (Ark.).
Â
Factor ranks second in the NAIA with 11 homers, third in slugging percentage (1.200), sixth in batting average (.533), seventh in total bases (72) and eighth in on-base percentage (.600) this season.
Â
Factor and his teammates were scheduled to host Oklahoma Wesleyan on Tuesday at Jim Wade Stadium but that doubleheader has been pushed back to 6 p.m. March 28. The Stars are now scheduled to return to action 2 p.m. Thursday against Southwestern Christian at home.Â
