SHAWNEE, Okla. – Oklahoma City University opened the outdoor track and field season at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational, which was held on Friday and Saturday.
 
Junior Cailen Jolley notched OCU's best finish in the season-opening meet by placing third in a full field in the 800 meters at 2 minutes, 22.50 seconds. Junior Kaitlyn Heffernan finished in eighth place in the 5,000 meter run at 18:29.19.
 
OCU returns to action next weekend at the Friends Invitational in Wichita, Kan.
