YPSILANTI, Mich. – Oklahoma City University came up with the ninth-place tally during the preliminary round of the NAIA competitive dance championships Friday at the George Gervin GameAbove Arena.
OCU's performance drew a score of 77.17. The Stars perform in the finals 1:30 p.m. CST (2:30 p.m. EST) Saturday.
The finals get under way 1 p.m. CST (2 p.m. EST) Saturday. Morningside (Iowa) produced the No. 1 score of the prelims with a 91.93, while St. Ambrose (Iowa) came in second with a 91.77. Morningside will put on its finals performance at 2:50 p.m. CST (3:50 p.m. EST) Saturday. The awards ceremony will occur approximately 3:30 p.m. CST (4:30 p.m. EST).
Teams earned 25 percent of their overall score in the preliminaries. The finals performances take up 75 percent of the teams' overall scores.
