THE MATCHUP
• Oklahoma City University will face Panhandle State on Monday evening in Goodwell after losing to Wayland Baptist on Saturday evening in Plainview, Texas. The Stars hold a 5-5 record on the road this season.
• The two teams were scheduled to play on Jan. 3 at Abe Lemons Arena but that contest was not playef due to COVID protocols with OPSU receiving a forfeit win. OCU holds a 21-5 advantage in the all-time series against the Aggies had won three straight before taking the forfeit loss.
• OCU enters the game alone in third place in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings with a 12-5 conference mark while OPSU is in ninth place with a 6-11 league record
ABOUT THE STARS
• Oklahoma City University (13-11,12-5 SAC) dropped a 70-57 road contest to Wayland Baptist on Saturday evening. OCU trailed 56-45 at the 9:46 mark of the second half before cutting the deficit to 60-57 on a
Dravon Clayborn jumper at the 2:22 mark. That's as close as the Stars would get, however, with WBU clinching the win with a 10-0 run.
• Since resuming play after two COVID-related cancellations, OCU has posted a 7-3 record.
• Clayborn finished with a season-high 16 points in the loss with senior guard
Ryan Birt finishing with 12 points and senior forward
Romario Spence contributing 11 points and a season-high 15 rebounds.
• Spence has recorded 11 double-doubles for the season and seven in his last eight games played. He has also recorded two or more blocks in nine games.
• OCU shot a season low 31% in the loss (22 of 71).
• The Stars also only made six free throw attempts against WBU, their second lowest number of attempts in a game this season.
• Wayland Baptist out-rebounded OCU 46-44, breaking a streak of five straight games in which the Stars out-rebounded their opponent.

Mark Berokoff guided Randall to three national championships and a national runner-up finish in nine years as head coach of the Saints. Berokoff's record with Randall was 147-122. Mark Laird (third season with OPSU)
• Served as associate head coach at Southwestern Christian before taking over the Aggie program in 2019.
