YORK, Neb. – Oklahoma City University took the NAIA Southwest Qualifying Group Competitive Dance Championships for the sixth time in a row Saturday at the Freeman Center.
The Stars secured their berth in the NAIA Championships on March 11-12 in Ypsilanti, Mich. Oklahoma City makes its ninth consecutive trip to the NAIA Championships with a runner-up finish last year and the national championship in 2014.
OCU tallied a final score of 80.17 to seize the No. 1 spot in the postseason competition.
"I am proud of our team clinching a spot at nationals," OCU coach Tasha Hinex said. "We are ready to keep grinding."
Oklahoma City closed out the victory with a finals performance score of 80.50. The Stars had a preliminary score of 79.17 to notch the top mark of the early round.
