The Sooner Athletic Conference has named Abraham Chelangum, from Uganda as its runner of the week. Chelangum, captured the NAIA Mid-States Classic on Saturday in Winfield, Kan. Chelangam posted the best mark with 24 minutes, 30.10 seconds, 3.48 seconds ahead of Logan Horning of Friends (Kan.). Chelangam paced the Stars, ranked seventh in the NAIA, to the win for the fourth time in five years at the Mid-States Classic. OCU runners took three of the top five spots as the Stars finished in front of No. 16 Southern Oregon. In Chelangums race at the Chile Pepper Festival, he finished 10th overall in the division I race at Agri Park in Fayetteville, Ark.
