OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's
Montana Moon and
R.J. Walker reeled in academic all-Sooner Athletic Conference nods for the second year in a row.
Seven Stars made the academic all-conference men's wrestling team, which included 24 honorees. Academic all-SAC goes to student-athletes who achieve a 3.25 grade-point average or better and who were letter winners during 2020-21.
Grant Baber,
Jon McGowan,
Easton Rendleman,
Billy Sullivan and
Drake Vannoy rounded out the Oklahoma City wrestlers who were honored for their academic accomplishments.
The Stars reach excellence both in competition and in the classroom. OCU produced its top overall GPA of the past decade (3.332) in 2020-21. Oklahoma City extended its string of winning at least one national title to 28 years dating back to 1993-94 after taking the 2021 NAIA competitive cheerleading championship. OCU has won 70 national championships in all sports with three Directors' Cup titles (2016-17, '17-18 and '18-19).
