Stars capture fifth consecutive NAIA Southwest Qualifier title

OCU puts on performance that scores 85 points or better for fourth time this season

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University turned in the top scores in the NAIA Southwest Qualifying Group Competitive Dance Championships on Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena.
Oklahoma City nabbed its fifth consecutive crown in the national qualifier. The Stars advance to the NAIA Championships on March 12-13 in Davenport, Iowa. OCU picked up a bid to the NAIA Championships for the eighth year in a row.
"We are ready to put in the work," OCU coach Tasha Hinex said.
The Stars produced a final score of 85.37 to take the title. In the final, OCU's performance garnered an 86.27 score. The Stars have scored a mark of 85 points or better four out of their five performances in 2020-21.
In the preliminaries, Oklahoma City gained the No. 1 spot in the final with its score of 82.67.
OCU won the 2014 NAIA national championship as well as four National Dance Alliance titles.
