Crispin, Williams from OCU seize academic all-America® nods

Pair of Stars grab recognition for athletic, academic achievement from CoSIDA

AUSTIN, Texas – Tyler Williams of Oklahoma City University became a first-team NAIA baseball academic all-American®, while his teammate Peyton Crispin made the second team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Crispin, a junior from Lookeba, Okla., and Williams, a senior from Peoria, Ariz., gave Oklahoma City 78 all-time student-athletes recognized with CoSIDA academic all-America® honors.
Williams has produced a 3.63 GPA majoring in strategic communications. He compiled a .407 average with five doubles, 13 homers, 30 RBIs and 11 stolen bases. This year, Williams hit two homers in one game twice against Cumberland on Feb. 15 and Bacone on Feb. 29. Williams reeled in first-team all-SAC, two SAC player of the week nods, NAIA National College Baseball Writers Association player of the week for Jan. 27-Feb. 2 and preseason all-American acclaim in 2020.  
Crispin owns a 3.60 cumulative GPA majoring in human performance. Crispin posted a .320 batting average, six doubles, five home runs and 23 RBIs this year. He and Williams were honored on the academic all-district® team.
CoSIDA began the distinguished academic all-America® program in 1952, and since then, has honored thousands of deserving student-athletes from numerous sports across all divisions with these elite academic all-America® scholar-athlete honors.
To be eligible for academic all-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
