OCU pair snags academic all-district honors

Jackson, Loux reel in recognition for academic achievement

OKLAHOMA CITY – Kennedy Jackson and Baileigh Loux from Oklahoma City University garnered academic all-district® acclaim as awarded by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Jackson, a junior from Moore, Okla., and Loux, a junior from Reno, Nev., made the CoSIDA academic all-district 4 softball team. First-team academic all-district® honorees advance to the CoSIDA academic all-America® ballot.
Jackson owns a 3.66 cumulative grade-point average majoring in elementary education. Jackson led the Sooner Athletic Conference with 20 stolen bases and 31 runs scored while putting together a .395 batting average, five doubles, a triple and 14 RBIs. Jackson became a three-time first-team all-SAC choice.
Loux has a 3.60 GPA studying mathematics. Loux provided the Stars with a .339 batting average, five doubles, three home runs, 16 RBIs and nine steals this season. She took her second all-SAC nod.
The academic all-district® softball team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
