Stars duo makes academic all-district team

Crispin, Williams gain acclaim for classroom work

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's Peyton Crispin and Tyler Williams collected academic all-district® accolades as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Crispin, a junior from Lookeba, Okla., and Williams, a senior from Peoria, Ariz., were included on the CoSIDA academic all-district 4 baseball squad. First-team academic all-district® honorees gain consideration for CoSIDA academic all-America® honors.
Crispin boasts of a 3.60 cumulative grade-point average pursuing a human performance degree. Crispin turned in a .320 batting average, six doubles, five home runs and 23 RBIs.
Williams has produced a 3.63 GPA majoring in strategic communications. He tallied a .407 average with five doubles, 13 homers, 30 RBIs and 11 stolen bases. This year, Williams hit two homers on two occasions against Cumberland on Feb. 15 and Bacone. Williams snagged first-team all-SAC, two SAC player of the week nods, NAIA National College Baseball Writers Association player of the week for Jan. 27-Feb. 2 and preseason all-American acclaim this year.  
The academic all-district® baseball team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
