Stars aims to take fourth consecutive NAIA Qualifier

OCU takes floor 5:20 p.m. Friday

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University will seek to top the NAIA Southwest Qualifying Group Competitive Dance Championships for the fourth consecutive time Friday at Abe Lemons Arena.
Oklahoma City will perform 5:20 p.m. after the event starts with preliminaries 5 p.m. Friday. Finals will start 7 p.m. with all-American performances and awards to follow.
This season, OCU has produced an average score of 87.26 through five performances. The Stars collected their top score of the season of 92.75 in the Friends Day of Duals on Jan. 24 in Wichita, Kan. OCU has posted scores of 90 points or better twice this season.
"We have come in with a different mindset and worked together to make adjustments and take our routine to another level," Oklahoma City coach Tasha Hinex said.
Teams will vie to secure bids in the NAIA Championships on March 13-14 in Davenport, Iowa.
The Stars have been the top finishers in their national qualifiers to clinch spots in the NAIA Championships in 2016, 2017 and 2019. Oklahoma City won the 2014 NAIA championship.
