OCU sets exhibition at Texas A&M

Stars take on Texas A&M for fourth consecutive year

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Oklahoma City University returns to Reed Arena to meet Texas A&M in a women's basketball exhibition 7 p.m. Nov. 1.
The Stars and Texas A&M will hold an exhibition for the fourth year in a row and sixth time in seven years. Oklahoma City squares off with another Southeastern Conference foe, Arkansas, in an exhibition Oct. 30 in Fayetteville, Ark.

Last season, OCU finished as NAIA Division I runner-up to Montana Western. The Stars (33-5) captured the program's 19th Sooner Athletic Conference regular-season title. OCU boasts of 25 NAIA Division I Championship Tournament appearances, 13 30-win seasons and 13 national championship game appearances. OCU owns nine national championships won in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017.
Abby Selzer became a first-team Women's Basketball Coaches Association NAIA all-American and SAC freshman of the year last season for the Stars. Selzer, a sophomore from Thomas, Okla., provided OCU with 17.1 points and 6.8 rebounds a game.
Texas A&M comes off back-to-back NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearances. The Aggies are the only team to reach last season's Sweet 16 to return every starter with 94 percent of the team's points and four double-figure scorers returning.
Chennedy Carter, a junior from Mansfield, Texas, is a two-time all-American first-team all-SEC choice. Carter produced 23.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists a contest last season for A&M (26-8).
OCU starts the regular season Nov. 8 against Texas A&M-Texarkana in the Southwestern Assemblies of God Classic in Waxahachie, Texas. The Stars' home opener will be vs. Philander Smith (Ark.) at 8 p.m. Nov. 15 in the Oklahoma City Classic.
