OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University has inked Jaelyn Knight for its women's basketball team in 2019-20.
Knight, a 6-foot forward, became a two-time all-stater playing for Georgetown, Texas.
Knight grabbed two nods on the Texas Girls Coaches Association all-state and Texas Association of Basketball Coaches all-Class 5A Region III teams.
She collected three all-District 18-5A accolades, including two first-team honors, as well as conference offensive player of the year and academic all-state. As a senior, she posted 10 points and seven rebounds a game.
The Stars (33-5) captured their 19th Sooner Athletic Conference regular-season championship and ended as national runner-up for the fourth time. Oklahoma City has taken nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017. OCU has fallen short in the title game of the NAIA Division I women's basketball tournament championship in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2019.
