OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University collected 15 NAIA scholar team honors for notching a 3.0 combined grade-point average in 2018-19.
The Stars had 18 teams make 3.0 GPAs in the past academic year. Oklahoma City student-athletes achieved a 3.201 GPA over the previous year, giving the department a 3.0 GPA for the 17th consecutive year.
OCU took its third consecutive Directors' Cup championship and the 2018 men's cross country title in 2018-19. The Stars have won 68 national championships in all sports.

OCU reeled in this academic acclaim in 2018-19:
• The Stars led the Sooner Athletic Conference with 11 SAC scholar team honors.
• OCU had the 2018 NAIA men's cross country scholar team of the year as awarded by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The USTFCCCA recognized OCU as the team that excelled the most both in the classroom and on the cross country course.
• Three CoSIDA academic all-Americans – Melissa Eldredge (women's golf), Aboubakr Diallo (men's soccer) and Quinton Walbergh (baseball), giving OCU 74 all-time CoSIDA academic all-Americans. To be eligible for academic all-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
• Thirty-seven NAIA scholar-athlete awards and SAC scholar-athlete awards. The Stars had the most scholar-athlete honors among the SAC. Student-athletes are nominated by their institutions and must have achieved junior academic status while maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in order to qualify for the honor.
• Eighty-two academic all-conference performers. OCU's women's track & field team led the school with 11 academic all-SAC student-athletes. Academic all-SAC honors student-athletes who maintain a minimum 3.25 GPA during the previous two semesters, reach sophomore academic status and are letter winners on their respective team.
• The Stars honored a record 232 on the Fall 2018 Athletic Director's List and 213 on the Spring 2019 Athletic Director's List. The OCU Athletic Director's List includes student-athletes who made a 3.0 grade-point average during the semester.
• OCU led the conference with 196 SAC commissioner's honor roll recipients. The SAC commissioner's honor roll includes student-athletes at its member institutions competing in an NAIA-recognized sport who maintained a 3.0 grade-point average over the past academic year.
• OCU inducted 35 into its Chi Alpha Sigma chapter. Chi Alpha Sigma is a national student-athlete academic honor society.
