Abe Lemons Golf Classic now open for entries

Event benefiting OCU athletics slated for Sept. 20

OKLAHOMA CITY – The 17th Abe Lemons Golf Classic has been set for Friday, Sept. 20 at Lincoln Park Course. Open for alumni, fans, and golfers from around the state, the tournament serves as an important annual event for OCU athletics.
The tournament will again feature four-person teams playing in a scramble format with awards given to the winning team. Lunch will be provided, and all players participating in the tournament will be eligible for additional prizes. Check-in will take place at 7:30 a.m., followed by an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Space is limited, and the tournament is expected to reach capacity prior to the Sept. 13 deadline.
In addition to the Abe Lemons Golf Classic, Lincoln Park will once again host the NAIA women's golf championship in 2020 after successfully serving as home to the 2019 Championships. It is Oklahoma City's oldest public golf course, and unveiled its new state-of-the-art $9.25 million clubhouse in the Spring 2015.
The Classic provides valuable funding for the OCU athletic department and the Abe Lemons endowed scholarship. Registration for a four-person team is $500, and hole sponsorships are $250 ($150 if also entering a team). To sign up a team or sponsor a hole, visit the online registration page. For more information, or to donate prizes for the tournament, contact Chris Maxon, Associate Athletic Director for Development – camaxon@okcu.edu or (405) 208-5431.
