Stars collect second place in Battle at Primm

Top-ranked OCU finishes four shots behind No. 2 Coastal Georgia

PRIMM, Nev. – No. 1-ranked Oklahoma City University tied for second place in the Battle at the Primm on Tuesday at Primm Valley Golf Club.
Ty Stites spurred OCU by placing among the top five individuals. The Stars, top-ranked in NAIA men's golf, finished four strokes behind second-ranked Coastal Georgia.
Oklahoma City shot a 272-285-275–832 to be tied with sixth-ranked Keiser (Fla.). The Stars finished ahead of seventh-ranked Rocky Mountain (Mont.) by seven shots on the par-70, 6,841-yard course.
Stites, a sophomore from Sallisaw, Okla., ended up four strokes off the individual pace set by Eli Scott of Coastal Georgia. Stites produced a 66-72-67–205.
Peri'Don Castille, a junior from Dallas, supplied the Stars with a 67-71-68–206, which tied for seventh place. Jack Madden, a freshman from Dungannon, Northern Ireland, Ireland, posted a 68-71-70–209 to tie for ninth for OCU.
Carson Seals, a junior from Ardmore, Okla., recorded a 71-71-72–214, and Brandon Strathe, a sophomore from Owasso, Okla., had a 74-75-70–219 for the Stars.
OCU had won its past four starts. The Stars have won seven of their nine tournaments this season.
Oklahoma City returns to the course in the Dalton State Roadrunner Classic at The Farm Golf Course in Rocky Face, Ga.
