PITTSBURG, Kan. – Oklahoma City University men's indoor track and field has four runners secure the A qualifying-standard on Saturday in the Pittsburg State Indoor Gorilla Classic.
Oscar Kipkoros and Max McNeill had an A standard-qualifying time in the 3,000 meters, while Oaklin Davis had an A standard-qualifying time in the 5,000 meters. Moses Dirane reached A standard in the 800 meters.
Dirane, a junior from Hammanskraal, South Africa, crossed the finish line in 1 minutes, 54.13 seconds placing in 12th. Davis, a senior from Aledo, Texas, finished in 14th place with a time of 14 minutes 55.49 seconds. McNeill, a junior from Uphall Station, Scotland, finished the race in 8:39.95 to place in eighth, while Kipkoros finished in fourth place crossing the finish line at the 8:23.05 mark. Mark Shaw, a junior from Ormesby, Middlesbrough, England, hit the B qualifying standard in the 5,000 meters coming in 17th.
Also competing for the Stars on Saturday was Ilijah Coleman, Cabe Killingsworth, Bryce McConnell, Kyle McKinley and Isaac Roldan.
OCU competes next in the Texas Tech Matador Qualifier on Feb. 15 in Lubbock, Texas.
