Stars take NABC team of week

OCU reel in three victories during Feb. 4-10

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oklahoma City University collected National Association of Basketball Coaches NAIA team of the week for Feb. 4-10.
The Stars went 3-0 on the week to move into a tie for second place in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Oklahoma City (17-7, 12-6 SAC) returned to the NAIA Division I men's basketball Top 25 for the first time since Jan. 2 at No. 18.
OCU extended its winning streak to six with the three wins. All six wins came in the past two weeks by an average margin of 15.8 points.
The Stars rolled to a 104-86 victory over Southwestern Christian on Feb. 5 at Abe Lemons Arena. OCU sank 57.9 percent from the field and 60.7 percent from 3-point range to avenge a 105-70 loss to Southwestern Christian on Jan. 8 in Bethany, Okla. Chris Williams, a senior from Denver, poured in a career-best 41 points. He averaged 26.3 points a game during the week to snag league player of the week.
Oklahoma City took a 78-65 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Thursday in Waxahachie, Texas. The Stars sank 16 of 17 from the free-throw line.
OCU overcame a 12-point deficit in an 82-73 victory over Texas Wesleyan on Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena.

The Stars' next contest will be 8 p.m. Thursday at Panhandle State in Goodwell, Okla.
