OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University soccer player Alex Gang has been named an ESPN The Magazine academic all-American as announced recently.

Gang, a junior from Seoul, South Korea, was selected to the college-division third team.

Gang has a 3.95 grade point average while pursuing a degree in business. He led OCU with 22 goals and was named Sooner Athletic Conference offensive player of the year earlier this week. He made academic all-district as announced earlier.

“Alex is the epitome of a student-athlete,” OCU coach Brian Harvey said. “He is also a great kid. He is the kind of player that any coach would love to have.”

This is the second consecutive year that Gang has been recognized by the College Sports Information Directors of America. He was named to the ESPN The Magazine academic all-district VI team a year ago.
