Alicia Bailey enters her first full season as Oklahoma City University head cheerleading coach and spirit coordinator.
Bailey served as an assistant coach in 2014-15 for all three OCU spirit squads. With her leadership, the Stars had an incredible year. The cheer team brought home titles as the NAIA West Regional champions, NAIA national champions, NCA small coed national champions, and finished fourth in the STUNT National Tournament. In addition to this, there were 14 all-Americans on this team.
Bailey enters the coaching realm after a successful career as a student-athlete at OCU. Alicia was a part of OCU's inaugural competitive cheerleading team in 2008-09. During her time as an athlete, Bailey became a four-time all-American and four-time academic all-American while helping the Stars win three NCA national championships. She was a two-time Jim Wade Award winner as the team's student-athlete of the year. Alicia was also a two-sport athlete and played softball for the Stars both her freshman and sophomore years.
Alicia earned her bachelor’s degree from OCU in 2012, graduating cum laude with her biomedical sciences degree. At OCU, She was a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma honor society, President's honor roll and Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. Upon graduation, Alicia continued her education at OCU and completed her master’s degree in nonprofit leadership and management in 2014.Â
